zoo with grandpa

My dad has always loved go to the zoo with the kids, and now grandkids. Such a fun activity and now it's "the thing" to do with grandpa. A few weeks ago, Kam and I tagged along with Shyla and Lexton. Kameron enjoyed his first trip to the zoo, even though it was crazy hot. Thanks dad!

Vegas Baby!!

SO, Kyle and I took the this trip in APRIL. Unfortunately, I never loaded pics from the camera until, well, today! That's how I work people. (what's really scary are the Christmas pics and others of Kameron from about 8 months ago. Don't be jealous of my procrastinating skills) Verizon treated Kyle to a trip to Las Vegas because he's so dang awesome at what he does. They put us up in the Venetian Hotel(by far the nicest place I've ever stayed), hosted a really nice award banquet, gave us two really great seats to BLUE MAN GROUP. All we had to pay for was a plane ticket for me, food, souveniers, etc. LOVELY!

We spent a lot of time at the canal shops in the venetian. It was so cool how the painted roof felt like the sky. This was our veiw from where we ate lunch. We were seranaded by singing
gondola drivers as we ate, so cool!

Favorites-
Kyia-Blue Man Group. Insanely good. To tell you the truth, I have never been to something so weird. I love how they melded comedy, music, science, and that bizare x-factor so that you just can't help but get into it.

Kyle- The Bellagio fountians. Anyone who knows my husband, knows that he loves music. He
wanted to stay and watch them again and again. If you asked him, he might say the Blue Man Group was his favorite, but he's mentioned several times to me that we should make another trip and watch them again.

Least Favorite-
Kyia-The cigarette smoke, EVERYWHERE. Yeah, yeah, I'm a snob. I think it's gross. It makes me nauseous.

Random- my friend Chelsea and her fiance Tj happened to be in Vegas on their way to Utah and we were able to hook up for an hour or so, which was fun.

On our last day we were able to go the Las Vegas Temple. Beautiful. The celestial room is probably my favorite of any I've been to. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was such a quick trip! It really is like another world in Vegas, but it was nice to get away.

Retro Bloggin...

Due to a severe case of distractedness and procrastination, I've managed to miss blogging about some really great highlights of this summer. Typical. It doesn't help that I'm so type A that it irks me to the core to post something in JULY that happened April. oh well, I'll just have to live with it. If any of my blog savvy friends know how to {cheat} so that I can choose which month my posts are indexed under, that would be awesome. stay tuned to our craziness.

Mom of the year award goes to....

ME!
While loading the car after a shopping trip at Wal-mart, I turned on the car so it wouldn't be so hot for Kameron in the backseat. (i love arizona, don't you?) SO groceries, in. Kameron, in. purse, with phone, in. (do you see where this is going?) I shut the door and CLICK. ugh! Locked out! So here's the thought process going on in my head.

[okay, i'll call kyle. crap, phone's in the car. i'll borrow a phone. what's his number again? (curse you speed dial) oh well, he wouldn't be able to leave work anyway. Spare key! We have a spare key...I think...somewhere... in our house...somewhere in our room. well, i can't really leave the car here anyway, and the key to the house is inside the car, GREAT. Do I call a locksmith? Police? I dunno, I've never done this before. There's no one around to to borrow a phone. I'll have to find someone inside the store. I don't want to leave Kameron here. ugh! i guess I have to!]

So I hurry in and tell the situation to the store greeter and she let's me borrow her phone to call 911. Someone is on the way...

I go out and sweat, I mean wait. I peek in the window and Kameron is sound asleep. (I love that boy!)

Later, I flag down the police man and he gets out and asks questions and then says we'll just have to wait for the fire department.

Fire department arrives HURRAY! and six men all attempt to break into my car for the next 10ish minutes.

JUST IN CASE the police car and fire truck weren't enough to make everyone stare, a motorcycle cop pulls up smiling and joking like it were a National Holiday. (annoying) What's with cops that when ever something is going down they can't miss out on the action and HAVE to be there too? I mean, thanks, but no thanks.

Meanwhile, about 4 fellow shoppers decided to come over and watch and offer advice on how to get in (thanks, but i'm pretty sure they got it! ugh, extra- annoying)
One of the super nice firemen gets a door open. oh sweet relief! thank you thank you thank you!
I rode home a humbled, grateful, and super sweaty mess.

I'm pretty sure I won't be making that mistake for a while. In the mean time, I'm going to find that spare key ;)

Surfer Dude

The weather has just been delicious here in AZ, so i decided it was time to take Kameron swimming!
here's some pics of him as we're getting ready to go. Don't you love how cute he is in that surfer gear? I DO! thanks target!{Sorry, i didn't get any pic of him actually in the pool. i was afraid of getting things wet}
The water was a tad too cold, but no worries, it will warm up here GUARANTEED!! we got a fun floaty thing for him to sit in that has a sun-shade. so he just kicked back while i pushed him in front of me doing laps. we'll take better pics sometime when kyle is with us. for now this will have to do.
