I CAVED!!!

Yesterday was a big day for me. After a year and almost five months of swearing off soda, I gave in and had some. I did it right. I'm talkin' 36 oz cherry coke washed down with a slice of pizza. It was sweet and fizzy and delicious. I have to admit it was quite wonderful. I had a stomach ache and was shaky feeling for a while after. Not sure it was worth it. At the end of the day it's still not good for you. So here's to another year without soda!

Our new little friends

My parents have a beautiful garden. They work very hard to make it so. Their pet turtles think it's wonderful too. Which is why we have some new additions to our family!!
Meet Fred and Ginger!

They love dandelions. (Which have in abundance)
And hiding.
And being hand fed. (They are very domesticated.)
Most importantly, Kameron absolutely LOVES them.
He stands at the back door and asks "Turt-ah?" which is as close to turtle as he gets.
When we go outside, he immediately starts looking for them. (They hide quite well!)
He picks weeds to feed them. And he laughs when they eat from his hand. It's adorable.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Disappearing Nine Patch

I have a sickness. I have become addicted to quilting. And, I love it! I just finished the top of my Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt using the French General Collection. My amazing Aunts are teaching me the ropes. I love our little Quilter's Anonymous "Meetings". It's so much fun to visit while we share our hobby. Not too shabby for my second quilt. A year ago I could hardly sew in a straight line. Seriously.

These are pictures from our last "Meeting".

And this is the Quilt I just finshed piecing.
